When Children Hijack Technology

This weekend Kaleb added his thoughts to an article I was typing in Word.

"Kaleb puld hes toth owt."

For those of you unfamiliar with first-grade phonetics, that would be: "Kaleb pulled his tooth out." (He's incredibly obsessed with loosing his teeth). And to answer that question: No, he has not (yet) successfully extracted another tooth.

In other news, Zack hijacked my digital camera on Saturday night, taking roughly 35 pictures. Here's a glimpse into what I like to call the BlairZack Project:

A budding photographer, no?

[By the way, Kaleb's pink tongue is courtesy of his teacher's Valentine: a tooth-care kit which includes a tablet designed to determine where kids still need to brush. Hence the pink residue on his tongue...]

So now you know two more things about us:

  1. We've paid a pretty penny for Kaleb's dental work.
  2. We all need therapy (Okay. So maybe you already knew this one...)

Man, that is one skinny boy! I wish I still had the metabolism I had when I was that age! ;)

Now wait a minute...was the tooth loose? Or did he grab pliers and pull at random?

Karen, You know it. In fact, both my boys are freakishly skinny. Heavens knows they don't get it from me...

Spammon, he's currently trying to pull a random tooth with tweezers (his tool of choice). I seriously have to confiscate them on a daily basis. Did I mention we all need therapy?

p.s. They all laugh hysterically when looking at this post.

Those crazy offspring o'mine...

Sounds and looks like Kaleb and Ammon have the same dental problems. We've put lots of money into Spam's mouth.

Hopefully Porter doesn't have Ammon's teeth.

Linds, I tell ya, I make that boy brush and floss every night. Here's to hoping he will not require any more silver teeth (although he LOVES them--those "pirate teeth" of his).

Pirate teeth rock! My offspring #2 has decided that he should never brush again - so he can have rotten teeth like Captain Barbosa! We argue the pro's and con's of oral health on nightly basis! I think we are a shoe in for therapy as well!

This was too funny. My boys were skinny like that until their teens.

Hugs.

Be glad your kids are little in the digital age. I use to have to pay for pictures like that, and each girls had their own album!! I think they are cute, very expressive for sure!
I totally ready his "tooth story." Tell him way to go!!

Funny, funny post. Made me smile! I don't think you all need therapy, I think your kids look like they are a very happy bunch. Can't ask for more than that!
XOXO

I'll buck the trend and comment on the photo project ...

I had similar experiences with "borrowed" cameras PRE-digital ... It was always a surprise to take a roll in to be developed only to find out the MAJORITY of the roll were pictures of eyes, noses, siblings, the floor, cats, and other blurry objects that I KNOW I never put in the frame ...

The upside today is the 'delete' button ... saves a whack of cash developing pictures not worth developing ...

ENJOY !!!!!!

After finding many pictures just like these. I purchased Kate a kidtough digital camera. She has been in heaven ever since.

Gustogirl, kidtough camera huh? I'll have to try that. My kids had far too much fun (and were quiet and occupied for nearly an hour) that it would be completely worth it...
