I cracked eBay

That’s right. I learned its secret, and from my own mother. Here’s a conversation I had with her on Sunday:

Mom: Guess what I won?
Shauna: Won? Wow! The lottery?
Mom (laughs): No. I won a new Sizzix [die-cuts for the die-hard scrapbooker]. In a cool font [she says because I know she already has a handful of cool Sizzix already].
Shauna: Where’d you win it?
Mom: eBay.

Now, lest I misunderstand, eBay doesn’t sponsor contests, right? So I said as much to my mother, clarifying that she did indeed PAY for this cool “prize.”

Mom: Well, yeh. It’s $42 with shipping and handling, but I got it and no one else did!

This is the second time my mother has won something on eBay, and I’m going to have to listen closely the next time she talks about QVC, because I’m pretty sure she’s won stuff there too.

Haha, that's funny. I totally get into that mindset, especially if it has come down to the wire and I just beat someone out on a particular item. Thanks for the laugh.

Why do you think they are so successful--everything is a contest. I am glad she came in first.

Oh, I know for sure that mom has won a lot of stuff on QVC. But I also know that she has a serious case of buyers remorse and sends a lot of stuff back...our mom is pretty cool. love ya, jen

Yes, Spokane is a great place to live. What a small world. I love how we're connected all because we each know someone who knows someone! lol! WE've been in Spokane for about 6-1/2 years. We like it! Now I'll have to be stalking your blog!

Jen, I know we're all enjoyed some of the things she's "won" on eBay, so I'm not complaining. How can anyone NOT love her. You're the best, Mom!

My husband says the same thing about "winning" on eBay!

Based on that theory, I'm heading over to Target right now. Bet I'll "win" something! Ha ha!

I seem to get pretty lucky over at Amazon.com Oddly enough, when I win, my husband feels like he lost. Hmmm...

Your blog CRACKS me up. I have been reading (stalking) your blog for a few weeks now. My friend Kristi (Paper is My Drug...) recommended it. You are a hoot. My husband is always asking..."what's so funny"... oh nevermind. Loved the eBay blog today!

I love when you're the highest bidder on eBay and you get an email saying, "YOU'VE WON!"

What did I win... the ability to buy something?

When I go to the checkout line at Target next time, I am going to say, "You mean I won ALL this stuff!?"

I think I'd get a few strange looks. :)

Props to your mom for her internet skills!

my husband always just watches the item until it is almost over, then if it is a good deal, he will bid. it is a good example for me, as i am competitive in nature and have, on more than one occasion, bought something overpriced on ebay because i was in a bidding war and wanted to beat out the other bidder...

I won again. To my dismay my water birkenstocks were left out to long in the sun and shrunk 2 sizes to small. Horrified I went on E_BAY to buy another pair. Lucky me, 2 hours left on a red paid.....I didn't even care what color we are talking about my swimming sandles. 2 hours later I WON!!! WAY TO GO!!! mom

Yeh! Mom wins again! You have to send me a picture of those red birks!
